INFORMATION

The Pinakotheken are a set of art museums in Munich.

The Alte Pinakothek (Old Pinakothek) is one of the worlds most important painting galleries, showing paintings from medieval times up to the 18th century. Some of the most famous pieces are by Leonardo da Vinci, Raffael, Rembrand, and Rubens, while the most recognised piece would be the "Self-portrait" by Albrecht Dürer.

The Neue Pinakothek (New Pinakothek) shows paintings from the 19th to the 20th century, featuring pieces by Manet, Monet, Degas, and Klimt. The most important piece would probably be the "Sunflowers" by Van Gogh.

The Pinakothek der Moderne (Modern Pinakothek) shows art of the 20th and 21st century, including pieces by Franz Marc, Salvator Dali, Paul Klee, and Pablo Picasso.
